This animatronic prairie dog is a great example of the cross section of skills STEFFX brings to a project. Rather then being entirely animatronic, the creature is part hand puppet, part cable control, and part radio control. It's a cost effective combination of techniques tied into a single puppet. Configured so all the key performance controls travel with the puppeteer under the puppet. The sculpt, hair work, mechs, and wardrobe fabrication come together to create an entire believable character.
The puppet was rig-able in multiple configurations with and without the puppeteer in shot. This plus Frank Meschkuliets amazing puppetry and hilarious characterization. As usual the funniest stuff was in the blooper reels.
